Review: China House at Georgetown, Penang

Instagram @colney

Hi peeps! Just before I went to enjoy my Penang trip, one of my friends- Mr R said that, "No trip to Penang is complete without visit to China House." China House is a traditional compound of three heritage buildings, linked by an open air courtyard (It just located at Lebuh Pantai and Lebuh Victoria). There are fourteen existing spaces with shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries, and theater. I passed by there few times already when I was searching all those street art/ wall mural in Penang. They offer Asian Fusion, breakfast, brunch, Italian, and others. China House is my "last" eat at Penang after checked out (with heavy rain.) To be exact, I had my brunch at China House (Kopi C) on my last day in this town. They have their BTB different menu (beside the cafe), canteen cheap & cheerful menu (thru the courtyard) also.

Penang: Street Art at Georgetown, Penang

Took a Georgetown Walking Map and start my journey of finding those street art. This is not my first time to find all these wall murals in Georgetown, but my second time. I just love to walk around and enjoy the food in my hands. Took quite some times to find these street art, and I didn't manage to have all the street art as some of them are just not my cup of tea. Because of these street art, I missed the chances to visit lot of places such as Purrfect Cat Cafe, Camera Museum, and Trick Art Museum. Anyway, I just want to share some photos here before I forget.

Penang: Bukit Bendera and Gurney Drive, Air Itam

The second day in Penang is just like my primary school's graduation trip. I go to Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera) not the first time already, and of course it won't be my last time. It is 6 km from the city and 823 m above sea level on this northern part of Penang. You can reached by Penang Hill Railway, the funicular train. Train open daily from 6.30 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. Please remember to bring your MyKad and student card because it will be cheaper.

Before that, I went to the Sister's Curry Mee at Air Itam to have my breakfast first. Run by 2 elderly sisters (they are now more than 80-year-old already), this local curry mee is what my friend used to eat almost everyday. Try it and you will love it. My friend recommended that it would be perfect if add the "sotong" inside this bowl of curry mee. And yes, I tried it and I fall for it. This is really awesome and you all should try it. It just located around Air Itam Morning Market.

Review: Chulia Heritage Hotel, Georgetown, Penang.

If you have followed my Instagram @colney, you might know that I had a short getaway at Penang one week ago. We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us. All I need is a destination, that's why I choose to stay at this yummy-food-city to have a rest. Thus, it's another short review about the hotel where I stay when I was travelling at Penang. If you all wish to have a very convenient location to go anywhere in Penang, choose the center part of the town. I had my great time at Chulia Heritage Hotel (Chulia Street, Georgetown) Continue to see my post if you are interested.

It took me some time to find this unique boutique hotel that hidden at the heart of Georgetown. It "hidden" between buildings and a small alley to let the cars enter their hotel area and you will see a car park there and a huge white building in front of you. It offers high standard accommodation and services for us, the travelers and the backpackers. Let's see some photos now.

Little thoughts: #Foodporn around Seksyen 17, Petaling Jaya.

I stay at PJ already one year. I used to visit my brother who stay at PJ last time, and I never thought that I will stay at this place also, the place where I love the most. With my favorite school, my favorite shopping mall, favorite person, and of course it made me gain a lot of chances to stay connected with all the events and collaborations that come to me, easier and more convenient.

I gained so much weight at this place.
I gained so much of memories in this place.
Below lists are the places that I visit the most.

1. The famous Cendol & Rojak, Seksyen 17.

I love to eat their rojak mee and cendol the most.
It just located right behind my house.

Little thoughts: Goldfish. Life is fragile.

Just an unforgettable memory in my life. I so want to record it before I forget because I think I won't keep other fish again anymore in my life. Thanks to one of my friends for these little cute goldfish. I started to take care of those little fish with my patient heart. The goldfish is actually the earliest fish to be domesticated and one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish. However, I only see those fish in that giant aquarium in my house when I was young. Only my dad love to keep fish with his patience. Every memories of kept aquarium fish is came from my dad, and everything's gone after he passed away. Goshh! This always make me think of him.
