Year of the Wood Horse (2014): First 2 days of CNY

February 01, 2014

Wish you all a Happy CNY with my Cheongsam-Look. ♥

Hi everyone, it's the second day of Wood Horse Year! I'm extremely excited during Lunar New Year, not only the Angpow with money and blessing, but also the time when you gathering with your relatives and long-lost-friend. Do you miss me too? =P Actually I didn't buy any Sunday best for Chinese New Year, but as you all know, girls or women, we used to buy this and that anytime, anywhere. So, this is not the headache-time to me.

The most headache-time is the preparation-time before Chinese New Year, have to buy this and that, clean up the house, and maybe some of you like to bake or fry CNY biscuits. I just think about it also feel like so tired already. Anyway, it will turn to the moment that you gonna remember most. ♥ I'm going to show anything about Lunar New Year aka my life-of-sleepless-night during Chinese New Year.

Get this limited edition Angpow from Astro,
I like the macaroon color.

And "Ma Li" also! LOL.

Malaysian Hakka Style.

Must have a Steamboat-Style-Soup.

Simple dinner with your family.

Must decorate "flowers" in your house.

Hampers from others also part of decoration.

Praying-table.

Chinese New Year Eve is the day for us to do our last preparation, have our last minute shopping time, bath with Pomelo Leaf to wash out all the unlucky from our body, reunion dinner with our beloved family, pray for a better year and do whatever you like. When it comes to the First day of CNY, we have our reunion breakfast also, Wongs Tradition! *wink* For your information, we only can eat veggies on the first day of Lunar New Year, so, this is what we usually do, be a vegetarian on that day. Everyone wear red and visit people's house together.

No-meat-day.

When it comes to the Second day of Lunar New Year, we will back to our mom side's family to have a good time with the granny and relatives. Love my grandma the most. ♥

This is what she prepared for us, simple yet delicious.

Yee Sang aka Prosperity Toss.

Yee Sang (鱼生), literally means "raw fish", but since "fish" 鱼 is commonly conflated with its homophone "abundance" 余, so, Yee Sang is interpreted as a homophone for increase in abundance (余升). It is one such traditional dish. It is symbolic of good luck, health and all thing auspicious. This is a must-have-dish on the 7th day of Chinese New Year. End my simple post with this plate of Yee Sang, good night!

Last but not least, I wish you all a Happy Wood Horse Year! ~\(≧▽≦)/~
